You can request access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to update, correct or delete it. Please note that we may decline your request to delete the information if we are required to keep it in terms of other legislation or if it has been de-identified.

You may object to the processing of your personal information if you think that, in your situation, it will affect your fundamental rights and freedoms. Even if you object, however, we may be compelled by legislation to continue processing your information. In such an instance, we will demonstrate our obligation before continuing to process your information.

You may also request that we suspend the processing of your personal information in the following situations:

  • If you want us to establish the information’s accuracy;
  • If our use of the information is unlawful, but you do not want us to delete it;
  • You have objected to the use of your data, but we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.

You have the right to unsubscribe from any direct marketing communication we send you.

International transfers

We do not share your personal data with third parties outside of South Africa.

The Tyreworx Franchise subscribes to the Code of Conduct of the Automotive Industry of South Africa and all Tyreworx Franchisees are committed to:

  • Providing goods and services that are safe and at prices that are fair and reasonable;
  • Publicly acknowledging the consumer's rights to be heard, to be informed, to have the right to safety, the right to choose, and the right to redress with regard to the South African Automotive Industry and, more particularly, the Tyreworx franchise-group of Tyre & Parts Fitment Centres.
All Tyreworx members are registered with the Motor Industry Ombud of South Africa, accredited as the industry ombud in terms of section 82 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (Act No. 68 of 2008)

The employer undertakes that the content of the Tyreworx Code of Conduct has been brought to the attention of and explained in understandable terms & language to every employee and the each employee has indicated that he/she understands the content.

PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION & CONFLICTS OF INTEREST

PURPOSE OF THIS CODE OF CONDUCT:

The TYREWORX Prevention of Corruption & Conflict of Interests Code is intended:

  • to provide measures to prevent and combat corruption, corrupt activities and any conduct that could amount to a conflict of interest between employees and the employer, as well as other parties involved in a business relationship with the employer;
  • to define what conduct in the workplace will constitute corruption, corrupt activities and conflicts of interest;
  • to provide for the offences of corruption and offences relating to corrupt activities in the workplace.
  • to place a duty on employees to report certain conduct.

NO BENEFITS MAY BE RECEIVED BY THE EMPLOYEE OR ANY OTHER PERSON:

Without the prior written approval of the employer, no employee may directly or indirectly accept or agree to accept offers of any reward, gift, gratification or hospitality from person other than what is due to the employee by the employer as remuneration or reward in terms of the contract of employment.

This prohibition applies both to a benefit for himself / herself and for the benefit of any other person, natural or juristic.

NO BENEFITS MAY BE OFFERED OR GIVEN TO ANOTHER PERSON:

No employee may give or agree or offer to give to any other person any gratification, favour, benefit or reward for the benefit of that person or any other person, with the intention to or in order to influence the other person to act in a way that:

  • is illegal, dishonest or biased;
  • results in a favour or any gratification being given to the employee in return to which he / she is not otherwise entitled in terms of the contract of employment;
  • constitutes misuse or selling of information or material acquired in the course of employment;
  • amounts to a breach of trust between the employee and the employer or any other person who is a supplier to or client or competitor of the employer;
  • constitutes abuse of a position of authority;
  • is a violation of a legal duty or set of rules;
  • amounts to unauthorised or improper inducement to do or not to do anything that will result in a favour or any gratification.

CONSEQUENCES OF CONTRAVENTION OF THIS CODE:

Acts of Corruption and Conflict of Interest are generally accepted as a serious enough offence to merit possible dismissal.

An employee who engages in conduct in contravention of these prohibitions will be subject to disciplinary action that may result in dismissal.

Depending on the nature of the conduct, such employee also be subject to criminal and/or civil action.

UNDERTAKING BY EMPLOYER:

The employer confirms that the content of the TYREWORX CODE OF CONDUCT – PREVENTION OF CORRUPTION has been brought to the attention of and explained in understandable terms & language to every employee and that each employee has indicated that he/she understands the purpose and content thereof.

Protected Disclosures
Code

The Tyreworx Protected Disclosures Code is intended:

  • to place a duty on employees to report criminal or other irregular conduct in the workplace;
  • to guarantee that the employee is protected from workplace reprisals on account of having made a protected disclosure.

A “protected disclosure” is the disclosure of information regarding the conduct of the employer or an employee of the employer that:

  • shows that a criminal offence is being committed or is likely to be committed;
  • a person has failed to comply with a legal obligation;
  • a miscarriage of justice has occurred;
  • the health or safety of a person is endangered;
  • there is unfair discrimination;
  • the environment is likely to be damaged.
Employees are required to disclose information about criminal or other irregular conduct in the workplace.

Any such information may be disclosed directly to the employer (Dealer Principal).

In the event of such information being in regard to the conduct of the employer, the employee may disclose the information directly to Tyreworx Franchise Head Office.

BFGOODRICH KO3 LEGENDS CAMPAIGN
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Organizers:

This organizers and promoters of this promotion are MICHELIN TYRE COMPANY SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD (“MICHELIN”) and TYREMART TYRES AND ACCESSORIES (PTY) LTD (“TYREMART”).

Promotion Rules:

  • Promotion is open to persons aged 18 years or over residing in South Africa
  • The Promotion applies to “Cash Customers” only – Fleets, Businesses & Account Customers are excluded
  • Participation requires the purchase and fitting (at the Tyremart or Tyreworx store where purchased) of a set of 4 or 5 BFGoodrich KO3 tyres (in respect to the Free Rugby Ball and Chance-to-Win Braai promotion) or a set of 4 or 5 BFGoodrich KO2 tyres (in respect to the Chance-to-Win Braai promotion only)
  • Participation is automatic upon the customer having provided correct names, cell phone number & vehicle registration number to a Tyremart or Tyreworx representative, for inclusion on the purchase invoice.
  • Participants are required to retain their invoice and agree that they may, at any time on request of MICHELIN and/or TYREMART, by required to produce the original invoice.
  • Free Rugby balls are limited to one per invoice, irrespective of the number of tyres purchased.
  • The promotion starts on 18 November 2024 and ends by 31st January 2025.
  • The draw to select the winner of the “Braai-with-Legends” will be done during January 2025.
  • The winner will be contacted on the cell phone number recorded on the winning invoice. Should it not be possible to make contact with the winner within 24 hours, the Organizers reserve the right to consider this winning draw void and to select another winner.
  • Rugby balls are limited, and promotion is subject to stock availability
  • Rugby balls are not kept at the Tyremart & Tyreworx stores.
  • The balls will be delivered to the stores where qualifying sales are made.
  • Tyremart Head Office Marketing Department will endeavour to deliver the balls with 7 (seven) working days of the purchase having been made.
  • Qualifying customers will be contacted on the cell phone number they have provided; and they will be required to collect their prizes from the store where the tyres were purchased
  • MICHELIN employees and their authorized distributors/promotional agencies are not allowed to participate in the competition.
  • TYREMART and MICHELIN’s decision in all matters to do with the promotion will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Braai with the Legends:

  • The anticipation is that the winner will be able to invite up to 10 persons (himself / herself included) to be joined for a home-based braai with the Rugby Legends.
  • Although it is the intention that all five Rugby Legends will attend, the organizers do not guarantee that all five Rugby Legends will, in fact, be available to attend.
  • The organizers reserve the right to inspect the premises and, if they are determined not to be suitable, an alternative venue may be provided by the organizers.
  • The organizers shall not be required to provided reasons as to why the premises are not deemed suitable.

General Terms & Conditions:

  • By entering this promotion, the participant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by the entire terms and conditions of this promotion.
  • The prizes cannot be exchanged with options outside the provided platforms/options.
  • The prizes are non-transferable and are not redeemable for other alternative prizes.
  • The winner is expected to agree to the use of his/her name and appropriate photographs in any publicity material related to this promotion, however, the winner retains the right to refuse such permission.
  • The contestants’ entry into this campaign and acceptance of their selection shall imply their consent to the collection and storage of their personal information, as provided by them, into the MICHELIN and TYREMART consumer database for internal business or marketing purposes, which shall include without limitation, direct marketing activities.
  • Consumers may at any time request that their details be removed from the databases by giving written notification to the respect Information Officers of MICHELIN and TYREMART.
  • MICHELIN and TYREMART shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting it to the TYREMART South Africa Facebook page (www.facebook.com/BFGoodrichZA AND https://www.facebook.com/tyremartsa and BFGOODRICH Africa website.   • MICHELIN and TYREMART reserves the right to cancel this promotion at any time.
